Long time, no posts...

Hi my friendly scribblers

Well, we have now finished the manuscript... now we have to get people to read it!!

The advice given on You and Yours (BBC iPlayer at about 30 if you want to listen to the item) by Stephen Leather included setting up a website, a blog and a Facebook page and publishing your work as an ebook for Kindle.

Sounds good. So I have found the blog I started over a year ago and now await your comments.

I've invited Val and Jo to be authors, dunno whether this will work. If it does, then Bren and Mary might like to try it, if they would like to and have time.

Lynden League of Ladies

I've managed to work through the ms to identify most of the chapter contents, at last!

Now the work begins to take out content that doesn't entirely fit with the plot and start to add content that does!

And, of course, to move content about. I'm not sure which of these tasks will be the most difficult (or frustrating!).

May require vino to free up the 'creative juices' - might take some doing!

Any ideas from you all will be gratefully seized upon.

Lynden League of Ladies

17 May 2010

We have been writing our novel, Rise of the Lynden League, for about two years and are now embarking on our first major edit, which means taking stuff out and putting more stuff in!

Ideas for new stuff:

Easter egg hunt
Shop frolics
Farm frenzies
Sporting event
More fund raising

Storyline criticisms/suggestions:

Stick with the common goal of the Lynden League of Ladies
Slow down the pace of the action
End on a cliff hanger
Start in the school - flashbacks to main characters' journey and arrival
Keep the humour going

Not sure about what to take out yet. It'll go into the sequel, of course.

Well, it's a start! Will it be another two years in major edit? At least we'll be having fun...
